The complex is located in a peninsula, with the reputation of being the greenest area on the island of Crete. It is built at the edge of a village, known to have been prosperous since the 18th century. It has maintained its character throughout the years due to the eagerness of the local population to preserve the historical monuments and traditional buildings of the community. As a result, the long history of the entire area as well as the aesthetic of the village, inspired the creation of the "Cretan Traditional Village", with the obvious architectural influence of its surroundings being apparent, throughout the whole settlement.
Nearby you'll find two traditional orthodox churches (Byzantine monuments of the 19th century), with remarkable icons and beautiful architecture, the local "kafenio" (coffee place) in the village's central square, a tavern with authentic delicious Cretan couzine, and shops to buy fresh meat, fruit and vegetable.
The project was designed and built at the top of a hill, overlooking the surrounding valley, the mountains and a gulf, which lies about 3km away. The rich nature includes olive trees, various fruit trees, cypresses and very impressive oaks.
All buildings in the "Cretan Traditional Village" are two storey, detached or semi-detached, comprising an overall of 34 units (apartments and maisonettes) and a shop, which can have a multifunctional usage as coffee shop, grocery, bakery etc.
They are all equipped with kitchen fittings and wardrobes, which, together with the doors and windows, are tailor-made by local carpenters, who used first class, solid wood to make them. In addition, 11 units are fully furnished.
